OUR ECO-PHILOSOPHY

Mision Impossible Lodge is eco-committed: we contribute to mitigate the effects of our activities on the environment. The nature is very important for us, indeed the Lodge enjoys an exceptional environment which we have to protect.

Our sustainable development policy involves everybody, owners to the working team, by way of our hosts. We think that the respect of the nature is a global challenge which cannot limit itself to the everyday life. The opinion of all is important and we listen to attentively all the suggestions of our customers. It already has been years since we try to carry concrete actions to reduce the impact of Lodge and village on the environment, and open up the community about the problem of ecology.

Our initiatives:

 1/Recycling and the concrete actions

-               We participate actively in the environmental committee of the village, with actions of cleaning or protest, for example against the power plant in the Aguas Calientes Valley, or organizing the municipal dump points…

-               When we receive children of schools or middle schools for “Educational school trips”, we teach them basic gestures: as to bring back its waste, to collect papers or garbage which can be meet on the ground and put it down the closest trashcan.

-               The garbage of the Lodge is sorted out and recycled: the glass ans the aluminium are brought in a recycling center in the city of Chillan, for lack of no recycling point in Las Trancas.

-               We also have a compost, to recycle the waste of the kitchen and decrease our volume of garbage …

In each of the rooms of the  Lodge there is a copy of the ” Policy of Care of Natural resources and the Environment “, which tries to develop the voluntary contribution of the host by giving him the option to have washed or not its towels and sheets for example… This policy also explains simple rules as to switch off the lights, not to throw its butts of cigarettes to the ground, to consume the water in reasonable quantity and to respect the forest with its fauna and its flora.

3/ A general participation and a commitment of the employees

-               We use a saver of water in all the faucets, and the staff is conscious about the importance of saving the water: during quarterly meetings.

-               All the lights are equipped with an energy-saving bulb.

-               We try to buy products of biodegradable interview.

-               We work with local producers: for example one organic home-made cerveza Bio-Bier, one organic apple juice (Alma Ata) … that’s permits to develop the economical activity in the Valley and the local business: our bread is made by a lady of the village who also realizes our uniforms, sheets, tablecloths …

-              Moreover we work with and sale NESPRESSO coffees.  This company has a very strict ethical  policy and developed its  program named  “ECOLABORATION”: it is Nespresso’s commitment with the sustainable quality

THE COFFEE: from 2003 and in collaboration with Rainforest Alliance, 33 000 producers of coffee have joined the program of production of Nespresso’s green coffee.

RECYCLING: The capsules of Nespresso are made of aluminium: protecting perfectly the aroma and the freshness of the coffee its retrains without losing its properties. The rests of the Coffee can be recycled too (as fertilizer …).

MACHINE: Inverting in research and development, Nespresso managed to create a machine consuming less energy, in order to reduce the carbon footprint.

4 / Eco-activities

In the  Ecoparque Shangri -La we also have for main purpose to respect the nature.

The circuit of accrobranche with its modules is made so that no nail touches a tree trunk, and so that nothing alters the landscape or the fauna and the flora.

During the mini trekking following the ecological paths of the Park, we can observe rather rare sorts of insects, flowers, birds and enjoy the incredible view on the valley .

5 / Projects

Change the boiler for another one of high efficiency, to improve our energy profitability, one of our main challenges.

Constructions to come are thought and will be realized by using the more possible “éco – construction “.
